Exhibition on the theme of territory The space of the Art et marges museum has never held such a vast exhibition. The artists from AUSSI LOIN QU'ICI are bringing together a show that conjures up journeys that are immobile, daily lives reinvented, windows filled with fantasies, perpetuated memories, recorded itineraries, movements set in lines, journeys set in waves, and landscapes placed inside boxes! Take the path overlooking the maps, tuck yourself away in a secluded space; you have never been so far as by simply staying here, where a movement is mapped out that makes the margin irresistibly central. The exhibition will be held during two different periods: rom April 24, 2025 to November 02, 2025, and from November 13, 2025 to March 29, 2026 (Please note that the museum is closed from November 3, 2025 to November 12, 2025). In its strange and piercing enigma, a black angel appears—emerging as if sprung from our dreams. It shifts and reshapes, traversing epochs; its form hollowing, elongating—until beauty, uncanny and ancient, rises from within. Mysterious beings stir inside it, echoing myths from time's first whisper. It imprints upon the mind a vision—indelible, unshakable. Trained in dance, martial arts, and butoh, Kitt Johnson works on the fundamental states of the body, invoking the metamorphosis that awakens the ‘other’ within. With movement utterly her own, and a presence that commands the void, she has become a living emblem of Nordic dance. Stigma premiered during the festival Singles at Statens Museum for Kunst in 1999. The angles, the lines, the pure geometry a body may assume when bared in the stark simplicity of open space. Here, the dancer becomes a study in stillness and motion—confronting the sharp clarity of all that slips beyond her grasp, and all that she builds with such effortless grace. There is no crescendo of surprise, only a quiet release of tension, a surrender of nerves, a graceful unfolding of limbs guided by an instinctual pulse. And then—unexpectedly—meaning blossoms. And with it, a breath of liberation. In Body Monologue, Anastasia Valsamaki crafts a language that is both crystalline and deeply resonant.
