Just saw the matinee yesterday. It’s edgy, energetic, way way queer/gay, and sexually explicit. It’s one of those ensemble cast plays where the 4th wall is constantly being obliterated and then rebuilt, throughout. There are indeed obvious problematic ethical questions about the whole thing — Prince George being a real person, and a now 12 year old boy at that. My favorite character among the 6 person cast, the Royal Family’s publicist, vanished after an amazing one scene early on. And I found the pivot ending/coda too self-consciously “woke” despite her 10/10 vogueing performance. But there was a lot to engage with, in between. (责任编辑:) |
