27 Sep 2024 2025-2026 Olympic season to start with ITP and World Cup on new Eugenio Monti track
Finale to close World Cup season on newly reopened Königssee track Lausanne (RWH) World Cup kick-off at the Eugenio Monti Sliding Centre in Cortina d'Ampezzo (ITA), World Cup finals return to Königssee (GER): At its recent meeting, the Executive Committee of the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) approved the preliminary calendar for the 2025-2026 season. The Olympic winter for bobsleigh and skeleton athletes will begin on the track of the 2026 Winter Games in Milan/Cortina from 17 to 23 November 2025. Prior to the start of the World Cup, a 10-day International Training Period (7-16 November) will give the IBSF athletes the opportunity to get to know the new Olympic track. The 2025-2026 World Cup will also include races in Innsbruck (AUT), two race weekends in Lillehammer (NOR) as well as events in Winterberg (GER), St. Moritz (SUI / incl. European Championships) and Altenberg (GER) in the run-up to the 2026 Olympic Winter Games (6-22 February 2026). The World Cup season for IBSF athletes will end with the World Cup final on the newly reopened Königssee sliding track (2-8 March 2026), which was partially destroyed during a flood in the summer of 2021. The Olympic Qualification System for Milan-Cortina 2026 is available on ibsf.org for both Bobsleigh and Skeleton.
