The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School’s Professional Accountancy (PACC) Programme organised the Global Accounting (GA) Scholarships Presentation Ceremony cum Career Masters Luncheon on 11 May 2019 at Cordis Hong Kong.

Over 50 scholarship donors, career masters of secondary schools, alumni and students from the GA stream, and faculty members joined this event. At the ceremony, all the 12 newly admitted GA students received scholarships from the donors in recognition of their achievements.

This year, a mentoring programme has been initiated for the newly admitted GA students. It provides a platform for GA students to learn from GA alumni regarding academic and career planning. Latest developments of the PACC Programme – including the introduction of two streams on finance and accounting analytics – were also shared with the career masters. Faculty members could thereby learn from them the changing needs and preferences of secondary school students.

Since 2013-14, the Global Accounting stream of the PACC programme has been developed to cater for the growing demand for business leaders in public and private companies. It nurtures not only a global mindset in outstanding accounting students, but also understanding of international accounting practices and issues. Students in this stream will gain international exposure and practical knowledge through study trips, internships and various non-classroom trainings.
