Godzilla is undoubtedly going to play a part in the new series, but what about Kong? The return of Bill Randa and footage from what strongly resembles Skull Island at least indirectly suggest Kong is going to feature again, although exactly when and how is anybody's guess.

If Kong does appear, then this confirms that the series won't go past the events of Godzilla vs. Kong, in which Kong is taken off Skull Island and instead makes a new home for himself in the hollow earth. This also means there is the chance of him facing off against some of the new monsters already seen in the trailer; natural opponents for a great ape wanting to assert his dominance.

Kong may also appear as a saviour, such as when a giant ship looks set to crush two of the human characters. It could well be that Kong steps in to save them.

If Kong is involved, however, then this is a secret being kept firmly under wraps. Like much of Monarch itself, Legacy of Monsters is surrounded by mystery. Audiences however do not have long left to wait before the fog is dispelled and some titan-sized answers are finally revealed.
