SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The weekly global market price trends for the different scrap metal categories on the Scrap Monster Price Index for the week of September 5–11, 2025, are given in the report that follows:

Copper Scrap Prices

Over the previous week, there was a marginal increase of 2.30% in copper scrap prices.

North America

Over the past week, #1 Copper Bare Bright's price has gone up by 2.25%. #1 Copper Wire & Tubing closed at $4.45 per pound, up 2.30% from the beginning of the week. Additionally, the price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing went up from $4.25 to $4.35 per pound, witnessing a 2.35% weekly rise.

The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright on the ScrapMonster Index rose from $4.45 to $4.55 per pound as of Thursday, September 11, 2025, a weekly increase of 2.25%. #1 Copper Wire & Tubing went higher from $4.35 to $4.45 per pound, registering a jump by 2.30% from the prior week. By the end of the week, the price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing had increased by 2.35% to $4.35 per pound.

USA Midwest

As of Thursday, September 11, 2025, the price of #1 Copper Bare Bright on the ScrapMonster Index was up 2.30% for the week, from $4.34 to $4.44 per pound. #1 Copper Wire & Tubing edged higher from the previous week’s closing price of $4.24 to $4.34 per pound. The average price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing had increased by 2.42% to $4.24 per pound by the conclusion of the week.

USA West Coast

According to the ScrapMonster Index, the price of #1 Copper Bare Bright increased by 2.22% throughout the week, from $4.50 to $4.60 per pound. Last week, the price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing increased by 2.27%. By the conclusion of the previous week, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing had gone up 2.33% from $4.30 to $4.40 per pound.

China

The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright on the Index somewhat decreased during the preceding week, which ended on September 11, 2025. The weekly closing price was CNY 79,150 per MT, which was lower than the price of CNY 79,200 per MT the week before. Compared to the previous week, the price of #1 Copper Wire & Tubing was down marginally by 0.07%. Furthermore, the price of the Index's #2 Copper Wire and Tubing edged lower by 0.07% at the conclusion of the week, falling from CNY 74,500 per MT to CNY 74,450 per MT.

Europe

The weekly price of #1 Copper Bare Bright stayed at $6,000 per tonne from the week before. #1 Copper Wire and Tubing remained at $5,200 per tonne on the Index, unchanged from the previous week. Furthermore, the price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing on the Index remained constant during the week ending September 11, 2025.

 

Brass Scrap Prices

The price of brass scrap went higher by 0.35% over the previous week.

North America

By the end of the week, Red Brass prices had gone up from $2.95 to $2.96 per pound. On the Index, Yellow Brass also saw a slight increase. The commodity's price increased by 0.36%, from $2.80 to $2.81 per pound.

Over the last week, Red Brass's price edged higher by 0.34%. At the end of the week, Yellow Brass's price per pound also increased from $2.80 to $2.81.

USA Midwest

Red Brass's reported price increased by 0.35% from the previous week, from $2.89 to $2.90 per pound. The Index also showed that the price of Yellow Brass had increased. The price of the commodity increased by 0.37% week-on-week.

USA West Coast

Red Brass was up marginally by 0.33% from the previous week, trading at $3.06 per pound as of Thursday, September 11, 2025. Additionally, Yellow Brass's price per pound increased by 0.35% from the previous week.

China

The week ending September 11, 2025, saw decline in the price of Red Brass and Yellow Brass. According to the Index, the price of Red Brass recorded decline by 0.13%, to close at CNY 38,700 per MT during the week, while the price of Yellow Brass also witnessed 0.14% dip from the previous week’s price of CNY 35,900 per MT.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

The Index's aluminum scrap prices recorded no variation over the previous week.

North America

The price of E.C. Aluminum Wire held steady on the Index in comparison to the previous week. The price of 6063 Extrusions at the conclusion of the week ending September 11, 2025, was flat at $0.93 per pound. The index showed no variation in Old Cast prices. In addition, UBC's prices were unchanged over the week prior.

The price of E.C. Aluminum Wire reported no variation from the prior week. During the week ending September 11, 2025, the price of 6063 Extrusions was unchanged when compared to the previous week. The Index showed that the price of Old Cast has recorded no change. Additionally, UBC's prices witnessed no variation on the Index during the previous week.

USA Midwest

The price of E.C. Aluminum Wire recorded no change since a week ago. Last week, the product's price closed at $1.18 per pound. In the meantime, 6063 Extrusions' price held steady from the week before. Old Cast and UBC recorded no change in prices from the previous week, according to the ScrapMonster Index.

USA West Coast

E.C. Aluminum Wire's price witnessed no change over the previous week. The ScrapMonster Index indicates that the price of 6063 Extrusions held steady week-on-week. The prices of Old Cast in the Index were unchanged over the week. Additionally, UBC's pricing also remained flat as of September 11, 2025.

China

E.C. Aluminum wire saw a jump of 1.02% in prices from the previous week. The price of the commodity was up from CNY 19,550 per MT to CNY 19,750 per MT over the week. Furthermore, 6063 Extrusions' price recorded 1.08% increase to end the week at CNY 18,650 per MT. As of September 11, 2025, Old Cast's price was up by 1.10% on the Index. At the end of the week, UBC prices on the Index closed at CNY 12,750 per MT, rising by 0.39% week-on-week.

Europe

The price of Old Cast was flat at $1,050 per tonne for the entire week. The ScrapMonster Index also shows that UBC prices remained same from the previous week at $1,250 per tonne.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices 

The prices of Stainless Steel scrap recorded no change over the previous week’s prices.

North America

The weekly pricing trend analysis of 304 SS Solid showed that the commodity's price remained steady at $0.61 per pound, with no change over the previous week.

The preceding week, which ended on September 11, 2025, saw no change in the price of 304 SS Solid. The commodity's price was flat at $0.61 per pound.

USA Midwest

There was no change in 304 SS solid prices from week to week. At the end of the week, the Index's prices were $0.61 per pound.

USA West Coast

For the week ending September 11, 2025, 304 SS Solid prices stayed flat at $0.61 a pound.

China

The price of 304 SS Solid witnessed no variation during the week. In the week ending September 11, 2025, the price of the commodity held steady at CNY 10,150 per MT.

Europe

The price of 304 SS Solid did not change from the previous week's price of $1,070 per ton.

Steel Scrap Prices

Steel Scrap prices reported mixed trend when compared with the previous week.

North America

Over the previous week, there has been 1.59% increase in the price of the #1 HMS. The commodity's price ended the week at $320 per MT. Additionally, the price of Shredded Auto Scrap remained constant at $370 per MT throughout the week. HMS 80/20 was priced at $265 per MT, same like it was the week before. However, #1 Busheling's pricing recorded marginal decline by 1.18% during the week.

Throughout the week, the price of HMS 80/20 remained constant at $265 per MT. In the meantime, the #1 Busheling rates in the Index declined by 1.18%.

USA Midwest

The prices of #1 HMS have increased by 1.59% in the past week. Shredded Auto Scrap was flat during the week. The HMS 80/20 pricing for the Index stayed at $265 per MT. #1 Busheling declined by 1.18%, falling from $425 per Ton to $420 per Ton in the week ending September 11, 2025.

USA West Coast

Over the previous week, the #1 HMS's price has increased by 1.59%. The commodity's price ended the week at $320 per MT. Additionally, the price of Shredded Auto Scrap remained steady at $370 per MT throughout the week. HMS 80/20's pricing remained at $265 per MT from the previous week. In contrast, the price of #1 Busheling edged lower by 1.18% to end the week at $420 per Ton.

China

The #1 HMS prices remained unchanged from the previous week. The price of the commodity held steady at CNY 1,630 per MT.

Europe

According to the ScrapMonster Index, the price of #1 HMS stayed consistent throughout the week at $170 per MT. As in the previous week, the price of Shredded Auto Scrap remained constant at $130 per MT during the week.

 

Lead Scrap Prices

Prices for Lead Scrap were stable as compared to the previous week.

North America

The prices of the commodity had not changed from the previous week, according to the Scrap Auto Batteries pricing data. Throughout the week, the price per pound remained constant at $0.24.

Zinc Scrap Prices

Zinc Scrap prices recorded no change in prices week-on-week.

North America

The price of New Zinc Die Cast were unchanged at $0.78 per Lb. Week-on-week, Old Zinc Die Cast prices likewise witnessed no change on the Index. As of Thursday, September 11, 2025, the price of the commodity was $0.65 a pound.
