The State of Washington special education regulations address the eligibility determination for specific learning disabilities and require the development of regression tables for calculating a severe discrepancy between intellectual ability and academic achievement. The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) Special Education, with the assistance of the Washington State Association of School Psychologists (WSASP) Assessment Review Committee, has updated the severe discrepancy tables to incorporate newly introduced measures. Instructions and other explanatory information have also been revised. This publication supersedes all previous severe discrepancy tables.
